Stencil and Etch
The solder mask stencil and chemical etching industries demand high quality stainless steel with specific properties. Material must be flat, have no surface imperfections and be free of the residual stresses that result from cold rolling.
Continuing miniaturisation within the PCB industry means that ever more stringent requirements are placed on solder printing quality. This means that substrates must meet exacting thickness tolerances and show stable mechanical properties. Our material meets all of these requirements and ensures minimum reworking during PCB assembly and solder reflow work.
Our stainless steel is primarily aimed at the stencil industry but is also an excellent substrate for chemical etching applications. The high quality surface finish ensures excellent resist adhesion and step etched parts are free from deformation.
Datum FG
Datum FG is the ultimate product for ultra high-end solder mask stencils for use in the PCB industry. Its exceptional flatness and proprietary stress relief properties make it well suited to intricate high density and multi layer stencils. Excellent registration can be achieved particularly in areas of high-density apertures.
Datum Laser PhD
Datum Laser PhD is the industry standard for high end (PCB) printing applications in the electronics industry. It is ideally suited to the production of laser cut solder mask stencils for use in the PCB industry. Its low residual stress means minimal deformation in high-density areas and ensures the stencil remains flat after processing. This greatly improves stencil registration and print accuracy.
Datum PhD
Datum PhD is ideally suited to etching applications and for the production of solder mask stencils for use in the PCB industry. Its low residual stress ensures minimal deformation following etching or laser cutting processes and it has been shown to be particularly suitable to step-etch applications and multi-layer stencils. The use of Datum PhD ensures exceptionally flat stencils with excellent paste release properties.
Datum Delta
The increase in demand for thinner stainless steel foils has led to the development of Datum Delta. Datum Delta is a proprietary, cold rolled precision strip manufactured from 304 grade stainless steel (to JIS G4313) and is available in very thin gauges. As with our other foils, Datum Delta undergoes tension levelling and annealing processes to produce an exceptionally flat, low stress product. The low inherent stress eliminates shape deformation during processing by chemical etching or laser.
Aluminium Frames (includes Mesh and Mesh and Steel)
We now hold stocks of high quality aluminium frames for solder paste printing. These are available mounted with our stainless steel foils or pre-meshed without foil. We offer a consistent product that has been through rigorous internal and external testing and is proven in the market.
